A mistake about the meaning of the word which hides the detail that as our economic globalization makes all the planet a single ecosystem, the inevitable global solutions become the fate of the dinosaurs.

It was not just an asteroid strike nuclear winter problem that did them in, it was also a change in sea level that allowed the planet to become a single ecosystem. Without protected microniches successful species destroy themselves and new species have no breeding grounds to replace them. Global solutions require effective local horizons.

Protected, isolated locales are the essential hallmark of all global solutions that can last more than a millennium. Although some historian claim the Roman Empire lasted from the first century C.E. to 1804, every two or three centuries it became a totally different empire just holding on to the old name.

The Roman aristocrats such as the Caesars were replaced by whoever led the palace guard who killed the last emperor. By the turn of the "modern" millennium (1001 C.E.)it was time for the moderni or those who accepted the modus hodie, the reality of today, where the great estates could not support all their children and all hopes of wealth and success lay in distant conquest such as the Crusades.

The global solutions based upon foreign conquest marked the entire modern millennium (1001-2000 C.E.)though the trauma of the Black Death of the 14th century and the total war and upheaval of the 19th resulted in another set of phony 'modern' continuations of the Crusader mentality that finally collapsed under the war crime tortures and total deregulation of Bush43.

The global solutions that will work for survival are the task for this new Age of Obama. So far, conditions have not deteriorated sufficiently to bring forth public support for the essential change and global solutions to allow survival.

Failing states with political corruption and economic disaster are symptoms of the transition required to support real global solutions. The collapse of the financial institutions with the basis in partial profit accounting (only what is being bought, not what costs can be ignored, dumped or hidden)is still part of the background development.

Climate change and natural disaster proliferation help to build awareness and destroy the asset value of real estate in specific locations. However, the major insight is the realization our knowledge base and education is built upon a system of paradigms from the post-Black Death era worshiping celebrity fan clubs of official university library works.

New thinking as well as the overthrow of the old medieval Scholastic notions are required before there can be any global solutions to our survival and success problems. The prime directive for global solutions is the respect for geometry and the limitations of the horizon.

Algebra replaced geometry as the basis of science after the Black Death since the quiet reflection and deep thinking required for the appreciation of the logical analysis of geometry disappeared. The magical solution of stated unknowns and the simplistic numerical answers required only obedience to rote rules without creative thought or deep understanding.

Logic declined, celebrity fan clubs replaced empirical science, and market profit became the sole measure of success. The ease of lifestyle offered by fossil fuel burning and the machinery and engines thus available seduced the developed world (those temperate sunshine zones with a sufficient growing season to support the urban population to industrialize and export the global solutions of speed and unlimited pollution.

It will take the collapse of those fast and filthy global solutions to allow open space for truly survivable and successful global development. The history of the indigenous peoples of the planet, whose local details all share the same global solutions--seeing their own realm within their own horizon, seeing their reality as controlled by the interaction of Sunshine and local Planet Earth topography, and knowing they must limit their society to their planetary reality to survive.

The one detail the original thesis of the indigenous peoples of the world failed to control was the ability to successfully defend against foreign conquest by military technology of invaders seeking to control the resources of the planet and thinking nothing of killing off their human competition.

The traditional global solutions to such Crusader conquests involve scenarios like the demise of the dinosaurs--a destruction of all life until those few survivors no longer have any ability or interest in continuing destructive ways. Our civilization had one opportunity to learn better with the Black Death, but no one learned very much.

In China society remained stable, only millions of peasants died. In the Americas, the epidemics were put off until Europeans brought small pox and such with their conquest. The indigenous population died off 95% and Europeans were just pleased with their easy conquest and went to Africa to replace the labor lost with slaves.

In Europe, those survivors who could claim the land and wealth declared themselves the new aristocrats and sought to claim the same privileges as before. When surviving labor insisted upon a living wage, the landowners just increased the price of food for every increase in wages bringing about the Great Inflation which became the foundation of all modern profit accounting.

Now is the final exam of the human experiment. Learn to put together the lessons of history starting with the need to abandon the nonsense of the medieval Scholastics and their simplistic jamming together their poor translation of Aristotle with their poor translation of Jewish Scripture.

One integrated world of diversity with common principles overall that simultaneously allows for local autonomy and general equality... This is the secret of the so-called 'indigenous peoples' everywhere throughout all time. They are also known as all the cultures who have survived living the same lifestyle for more than one millennium.

Our culture claims many ancient roots, however our actual lifestyle can not be dated back more than at most 3 little centuries. And already it is showing clear signs it cannot continue even for one more! Global solutions are survival solutions!

What we need are the new insights and global solutions that will enable the development of a universal synthesis of ancient insights that survive for millennia (how they became ancient) with the realizations of the mistakes of the Medieval ("modern)notions which have brought us global warming, predatory capitalism with its bubbles and collapses, and class and ethnic warfare instead of global unity integrated through myriad local diversities.

The problem of local communities living within their own horizon is that they are subject to military conquest by “modern” Crusader armies that find all humans merely inedible livestock interfering with their occupation and exploitation of resources to be shipped off to home markets. No one survives in a world of unlimited military destruction, especially with the proliferation of cheap petrochemical explosives,nuclear weapons and toxic wastes.

Slowly we are learning that fossil fuels are neither cheap nor easy once all the associated costs are tallied. The limits of costing that simply ignores whatever might be exhausted into the general environment becomes clearer as pollution emissions show up from over the horizon all over the globe.

Accounting principles based only percentage rates without scaling from the micro to the global allow local scams to become serious threats to the global financial system. The days when class prejudice and banker fears can be built into the accounting assumptions are also coming to crisis. Hourly workers have been squeezed to expand every penny of gross profit while salaried workers are paid to be able to live well and top executives are free to take all other revenues for their own pockets.

What used to be justified, irrationally as it turns out from the economic historians, as the advantage of not paying cash wages led business to use slave labor which has evolved to fugitive or illegal immigrant labor which doesn't require owner maintenance, just hourly wages. Productivity ultimately requires the consent of all workers. We work together or those being squeezed have increasing opportunities to slip their sabot (cheap wooden shoes of low paid workers) into the gears.

The bankers' preference for capital intensive machinery which can be seized and sold if the loan is called encourages treating labor as difficult livestock to be eliminated as much as possible.The business enterprise is part of its local community which serves that community by giving the populace jobs and thus income to maintain and develop their locality.

Local communities are the guardians of the quality of life and development within their horizon. Their wealth grows as they are able to export to the rest of the globe. Their survival is endangered as their jobs and local businesses are eliminated and outsourced for lower cost substitutes far away.

The universal Truth is beginning to emerge: that all humans must either work together in common productivity or suffer the increasingly intelligent rebellion of those treated poorly. Muslim insurgents, Somali pirates, Chinese peasants left out of the new urban prosperity, American homeless all become part of the same global reality. There is global awareness of what is a good life, and those shut out of it have little reason to let those on top stay there ignoring them.

First Step Forward:
Realize "Modern" Means Sad, Obsolete, Medieval

When will the notion that we human first and foremost are adrift in the ocean of our own ignorance and fear rather than having the exclusive privilege of the revelation of all possible knowledge through whatever is our latest fad, trend, belief or paradigm best-selling book?

Global solutions begin by erasing all the imaginary divisions, separations and boundaries which allow for isolated property rights to be claimed for any and every piece of territory under some claim to military domination. The better notion is that all the Earth belongs to the Divine Sovereign and only its current use or lease is available to mere mortals. The fundamental requirement of the dualistic philosophy that creates the dichotomy of mundane and Divine, also requires that the Divine remains beyond human understanding and control.

Global solutions start with a humble perspective of human limitation would be the absolute antithesis of the “modern” Church Scholastics of the Middle Ages arrogant assumption that their library contained all the proper knowledge ever needed and everything else was only fit to be condemned and burned. The global solution to survive the mounting problems of today requires the realization of the foolishness of the academic tunnel vision of the Middle Ages.

Global solutions are a simple insight yielding easy improvements that benefit all future generations. However, it requires the academic and power elites to admit they are the problem and their influence prevents global solutions from even being imagined. Who shall rule these next decades, the billion of the Planet Earth population and their descendents or the few of the upper crust and their symbols of power and authority from military might to library classics?

This transition from the now-obsolete “modern millennium” (1001-2000CE) to the new synthesis of global solutions for this new time, known so-far only as the “post-postmodern” is the responsibility of each one of us. No army can conquer this transition. No academic can publish the global solution since it is a matter of living human reality not magical impressions on paper or digital media.

Global solutions begin with developing the realization that just continuing the same unexamined assumptions from prior centuries just doesn’t make any sense any more. It is all part of the single view nonsense that brings not global solutions but universal suffering and destruction. Even the term “modern science is a translation of the Latin “modus hodie scientia ” or “book in the style of today”. That referred to the 13th century translation of the various Books of Aristotle’s lectures on Rhetoric as if they were descriptions of how the Christian God constructed the world.

Any possibility of rethinking or revising the Medieval Scholastic “Academic” model of the 13th century with its notion of recreating a form of Plato’s Academy for students in the Middle Ages disappeared in the vast loss of life of the Black Death of the 14th century. All that remained intact were the books in the academic library, which now became the magical repositories of all True Knowledge to be believed absolutely and without question by all students from then on.

Seem far-fetched that anything from the 13th century would still be a major influence nowadays? Another insight of those days, the notion of Roger Bacon that piston engines could be used to power cars, steamboats, submarines, airplanes was not fully realized until World War I in 1914-1918. In Roger Bacon’s day they could not build pistons, the closest he could come was to put a lead ball in a closed tube with gun powder and invent the guns which became so important to European conquest ever since.

Global solutions can only begin once folks realize that the conventional wisdom is folly and insist upon taking a new look at things for themselves. “ As a fish swims in water, so humans live in the Tao,” Lao Tzu wrote in his contribution to the global awareness of the 6th century BCE. The Tao is the Trail or overall context which each one of us relies upon. By our acceptance of this Trail or Tao, we add our activities to its development, leaving behind us an even more well-trodden and clearly marked Trail or Tao for others to follow.

Global solutions require us to change our Tao is to find a new Trail to follow and leave the obsolete expectations of the prior millennium behind. This is the prerequisite for any global solutions to have any chance at all to succeed. Slowly, individuals realize the old ways just don’t make any sense any more for them. A Tao or Trail has two components, one is the natural topography of the planet at that point. The second is the human component of how people feel about their world and how they choose to live in the world.

Today we have the entire Planet Earth wired to a single set of assumptions powered by the continuous burning of fossil fuels for everything imaginable. One world system belches forth destruction and ignorance in the form of consumer goods quickly becoming garbage worldwide in the headlong pursuit of the next quarter’s percentage rate increase in current accounting principles’ definition of values.

New thinking involves global solutions for each person in their own realization of what their unique values are and exactly how much personally it is worth to achieve those personal goals and values. Changes are afoot and as established values, goods, and assets become more abstract and less satisfying, each of us approaches their own tipping point toward the new millennium and its global solutions.

Time to consider Postmodern Science

What Are the Global Solutions of Integrated Sunshine and Planet Earth Topography?

Traditional topography included everything found within the horizon of any place, including the vegetation, human constructions, local history, culture as well as the elevation and contour of the land. Topography or geography combined the understanding of the locality with its context upon the surface of the Planet Earth. In the “modern” world continuing from the Middle Ages, this local diversity is to be “developed” into a manufactured set of identical component parts constructed upon a topography that has been bulldozed and replaced with a standard concrete foundations.

The alternative to the cookie cutter reconstruction of all places to look like suburbs of major American cities is to allow local diversity to implement their own topography. Instead of one set of blueprints sent from metropolitan headquarters, the principles of global solutions in terms of one geometry, one universal symbolism, applied through similar insights and techniques though with local materials and construction.

The major difference is in the attitude not the engineering details. Are the far flung locales of the world equal constituents of a diverse global solution or are they outlying suburbs of the same urban sprawl? Is there one important capital at the center with many satellites serving that one center or is each local village part of the global solutions unique to each local horizon. Each point upon a circle is equal to every other, and also the highest point by the tangents to the circle at that point. The decentralized Internet makes this new thinking possible, but only millions of individuals can make it all real.

The decentralized Internet was the innovation of a single engineer told by Pentagon brass he was working for that they had to plan for and therefore eventually implement pre-emptive thermonuclear war since decentralized command, control or even just communications were impossible. Taking this to mean that either he engineered a network communications system for the Internet or these generals would blow his family off the face of Planet Earth; he accepted the threat and came up with the solution.

It is possible for individuals to innovate global solutions in new ways if they are sufficiently motivated to realize what has been the only way for the prior centuries is not at all the only way any more. Just the realization that “modern” and “science” represent terms from the Middle Ages not the universal forever is a major step forward.

Modern science sought to isolate and restrict knowledge as much as possible. All observations were broken up into the smallest pieces possible in hopes of finding simple equations to replace any personal experience overall. This isolation serves only centralized military and political exploitation. The emphasis upon the objective continues the general unease about the frailty of individual survival in light of the Black Death of the 14th century.

Not looking at what has gone wrong lately, burying it in denial and fantasy has been the hallmark of the entire “modern” millennium from its Crusades to conquer its way out of isolation and poverty to its new “academic” universities to restrict learning to officially approved books in its libraries, to the Renaissance or recovery from the horrors of the bubonic plague to the conquest of the rest of the planet for plunder and profit back home to the endless wars of conquest and destruction right up to the recent 20th century with its nuclear war and Cold War pollution and global warming exhaust.

New sciences were developed to promote the new products while new marketing techniques avoided and denied the limitations and inherent problems of these new profit center innovations. The so-called environmental problems of since the Second World War have not sprung independently out of the blue. They were all logical consequences of the limitations and difficulties of new technology that were denied, avoided and ignored until they re-emerged as environmental catastrophes developing.

Hydrocarbons have known to be toxic long before it was discovered that chemical synthesis with hydrocarbons could yield DDT that would not kill you if you ate it. Its toxic properties remained, though and were discovered only as DDT use circled the globe and its consequences were felt in Rachel Carsons’ Silent Spring. Nuclear waste was known to be radioactive isotopes with long half-lives. That was just ignored as nuclear weapons were being developed and proliferated.

Greenhouse gases were known to increase atmospheric temperatures long before they became an Inconvenient Truth. However, the prevailing worldview (Tao or Trail) every scientist followed was that the Planet Earth was run by God, and human engineering only need to be concerned with the isolated, local system which would be protected by an Invisible Hand if its accounting spreadsheets showed a market profit.

Global Solutions require a double approach. The first approach is to realize that the obsolete academic assumptions are no longer “modern” but only medieval Scholasticism. The second is to start thinking in terms of the unified Planet Earth Topography and its geometrical symbolism. This was the original insight of the great global awakening of the 6th century BCE and remains the ideology of every indigenous people surviving upon our Planet Earth.

Fortunately, the ancient and traditional indigenous ways are not at all unique to ancient times or the special people who used to inhabit the Earth before epidemic disease and “modern” development destroyed them. They are the clear and obvious understanding of anyone who lives in the world observing what is going on all around them within their local horizon.

Every vertical stick or tree trunk casts a shadow as the sun passes directly overhead that points to the geographical pole and has an angle equal to its latitude. All the problems realizing the Earth was a globe come from deliberate ignorance not from a lack of scientific knowledge. It was the refusal to trust folks to go outside and observe the world for themselves rather than the lack of fancy isolated and purified laboratories. Current labs continue that tradition of trusting libraries most and allowing observation only within the cloistered confines of lab or classroom.

The local horizon is vital to the development of Global Solutions understanding. The horizon is the limit of what one can see yourself and still remain rooted in your local home base. It is essential to remain grounded both in your own observation and your own local situation and environment to appreciate the genius of Global Solutions based in Planet Earth Topography and Sunshine Celestial Dynamics.

How long does it take to return to the natural rhythms of Planet Earth?

We didn’t abandon civilization or give up technology at all; we simply appreciated being in tune with the natural world that remains available to everyone even in major cities. All sorts of things get thrown out upon the rural highways. When you are walking along the road, you find much of whatever you need appears before you lying there just off the roadway.

Along with material objects and friendly folks coming to visit or bring you food or all manner of other lessons in the alternative reality beyond the “no free lunch” of academic economics, there were also the lessons in personal growth and understanding. The Stars and Dice perspective of the macrocosm/microcosm hinges, quite literally, upon the realization that is YOU as living person which forms the essential connection between the vast celestial mechanics above you and the symbolic forms in your palm.

It is the living individual who must reclaim their central position of authority in order to have any hope of a global solution to the environmental, cultural and profiteering catastrophes that are impending. Individuals cannot be all there is in the world, but they must be the central concern of everyone and all planning and development.

On the Survival Walk of 1970 we were just the tip of the iceberg of new consciousness. The Nixon administration sent a camera crew to steal silent video of our Walk to use for their voice-over propaganda. All they knew about us was that we were receiving positive local press coverage and the Nixon folks wanted that to counter the negative global coverage of the War in Viet Nam.

There also were conflicts between those of us out walking the highway and those remaining back in headquarters working out the logistical details required.We had vast logistical support, especially as we were bringing along displays for eco-fairs we held in preparation for the first Earth Day. Our routine was sleeping out under the stars one night (generally in a public park); then being hosted in local residents’ homes two nights so we could present our eco-fair to the local community. And finally we continued on down the road the next day to sleep out under the stars on our way to the next small community in California’s Central Valley.

It kept us in touch with local residents, living as guests in their homes and at their family table for two nights and a day. It also allowed us to get in touch with sleeping out under the stars with the phases of the moon obvious to us as the evening would be either quite black or blindingly spotlighted by the full moon.

The power of the natural world to support human life and personal development is amazing. Perhaps one of the reasons the “modern” works so hard to break any connection to the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions reality. It remains accessible to us all, though global pollution obscures the magnificent beauty of the night sky. Mechanical clock time and other “modern machinery work overtime to keep us dependent upon that system and away from Global Solutions .

By the time we reached our first night’s stay in a modern home we were already acclimatized to living on the road in the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective. The local homemaker and family who took us in for the night had room for two of us young men. She apologized saying there was only one bed in the guest room, so the other one would have to sleep on the floor in our sleeping bag.

We were fine with that limitation and drew straws with the winner getting to sleep on the floor and the loser having to retreat to the silly bed. We were so in tune with the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective that we could not go to sleep while the drier was doing our laundry. We had to wait for it to stop and become quiet before we could trust it would be safe to close our eyes and sleep.

Returning to the natural world is not a long or difficult process—it happens quite naturally once you step out of the artificial reality of the modern mechanical world and let nature take its course. The problem rather is keeping the demands of the required expansion and development of the “modern” system from coming after you as open ground to be conquered, developed and reduced to consumer sales statistics.

What would it take to live within the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective and still maintain our basic urban convenience lifestyle? Remarkably little as most of the major changes are totally internal to one’s worldview and expectations. The alternatives are not a technological lifestyle or a primitive indigenous reality. They are simply believing in the unity of the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective or ignoring, denying, and evading everything except what is marketed and sold as corporate production.

The basic issue is a matter of a few simple changes to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to accommodate a perspective on an ongoing business model with its employees and local environment as essential parts of that continuing business and not expendable costs to be eliminated as much as possible.

Current accounting is done from a banker’s perspective that eyes getting back the loan principal from the failed business as its prime concern. Make the loan source and the national interest in local development and full employment an unified goal and everything changes without affecting basic operations.

When the costs of local health care, decent living standards and full employment are included together with the local business profit accounting the resulting tax credits for green business and tax burdens for irresponsible pollution will bring basic accounting principles and free market enterprise into the green revolution.

When every thing exhausted rather than recycled is tagged with the cost of its clean up simple self-interest will bring an end to the global warming exhaust and pollution. When universal health care and decent living standards are accepted as essential to living in peace within our local horizon, the balance between private employer plans and government plans will be established on a rational basis of what is objectively most efficient and workable.

Once the foolishness of abstract percentage rate expectations are realized—either for brokers’ commissions or profit rate returns demanded for stocks a sensible Global Solutions economy follows as naturally as sunrise after night. The solutions to global warming are simple, clear, obvious and straightforward. Getting free of the weird expectations and magical sleight of hand of the “modern” science of economics and thermodynamics is all that is required.

Soon the unintended consequences begin to clog the air, foul the water and make human life difficult. China, like Wal-Mart started out with a blind 10% growth rate demand. Now both are pioneers in going green. The change was prompted by their dire consequences as their size and scale grew beyond their ability to ignore the collateral damage.

A new openness is developing as the old ways lose their appeal to youth. Students can't accept the premises and assumptions that have no connection to their own realities. Modern science reached its peak in the Futurism of the early years of the 20th century. Now that is not just a decade, but a millennium and a Great Age ago in the distant past.

The enthusiasm for new theories for the ultimate 20th century peaked in the technological surge of the 1960's. Then students started noticing the theories had too many anomalies and supported too much military adventurism through soulless technological power. The U.S. military struck back against the student protests of that time, blacklisting liberal professors, separating the traditional community of scholars with vast grants to those with security clearance as “loyal” and starving the rest of the university faculties with objections to its being a hotbed of anti-government protest.

The tension between the modern push for ever more mechanical technology and the postmodern realization that were more human realities to cherish became the culture wars between those advocated power and destruction vs. those advocating a new way of livingness and peaceful co-operation.

Modern weaponry has made the least understanding and the most narrow-minded the vanguard of the old time “modern” or Crusader perspective. There is no technological or rational means to put the cork back in the bottle of the nuclear-petroleum-high explosive genie. These scourges will have to express and exhaust themselves with only the survivors learning to value peace.

The experience with the child soldiers of current civil wars offers hope. The natural mammalian mechanism of child socialization to the ways of the loving parental structures that offer food and security will win out. It requires a global commitment to treat the weapons and resources that fuel the current madness as pirate contraband opposed and destroyed by all wherever they are found.

Global pollution, intercontinental bomber fleets, and ballistic missiles make it more difficult to remain content within the local horizon. The activities of the Crusader millennium conquerors put everywhere beyond their horizon in grave peril for their attack and destruction.

The recognition of all the Earth and its inhabitants as citizens to be respected and appreciated rather than foreign territory to be conquered is a major issue of human survival. Currently even accepting employees as equal citizens with major stockholders is beyond political consideration.

The fundamental issues of race and ethnic prejudice are endemic to contemporary American politics. They remain major problems in most countries of the world, seething under the surface or roiling the streets in political demonstrations. It is the easiest form of political rhetoric to claim all problems are the fault of outsiders since they need to find a scapegoat to lynch.

There is no possible claim to have any neat or simple or even particularly possible solution at this point. The only certainty is that the proliferation of weapons and the ease of mass destruction makes clear that only those who accept the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective of the equality of every local horizon will survive to live beyond the next few decades.

The Global Solutions perspective returns to the ancient answers to these problems that have survived for millennia. Modern alternatives have threatened the survival of all in only a few short centuries. The survivors of this current century will certainly respect the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective. Or more directly, those who hold fast to the “modern” “academic” or medieval cloistered perspective will not survive many more decades.

Again, the question is an individual one—Where will YOU take your stand? Are YOU with your planet and fellow citizens or do you remain the expendable and soon expended effluent of the modern marketing system? Everything “modern” is expendable and obsolete based solely upon the isolated (cloistered) perspective of their favorite library books and science paradigms. What are YOU?

The difficult question is how do the 6 billion folks alive on Planet Earth fighting for their place in the sunshine keep from being the piles of corpses of earlier modern disasters? Global Solutions perspective requires first and foremost the courage to look back on recent history of the prior millennium and even just the prior century and face the terrors and human losses suffered.

It is not Future Shock as Toffler claimed, the impending approach of the latest jet plane, space shuttle and computer model which has folks so upset. It is Post Traumatic Stress over the catastrophic losses suffered but denied from the Black Death (source of inflation) through the U.S. Civil War and corrupt reconstruction (source of the fear of Federal taxes and agents) and the Great Depression of the 1930’s (source of economic conservatives fears of government misspending and deficits; and the Nazi Holocaust including the Munich Crisis (source of the neo-conservative national security and War on Terror conservatives) .

The symptoms of so-called Future Shock do not come from the unknown future which is the same today as it ever was. Folks who are undone by the change from biplanes to jet planes, typewriters to computers, local bank notes to global credit cards are the same folks who survived the total war of Napoleon, the development of mass production and transcontinental railroads and the destruction of isolated local communities by national franchises without any so-called “Future Shock.”

It is grief for the human basis of local rootedness which has been plowed under and bulldozed away. Personal history is destroyed to make room for the latest TV media campaign as all that matters. It is the grief over the human scale local life that produces the symptoms of Future Shock. It is only the denial and avoidance built into the entire “modern” millennium which insists these social feelings be denied to the recent past.

The entire medieval “academic” fantasy, based upon taking Plato’s imaginative fiction about his hero Socrates’ PTSD deranged assault upon democratic free speech as the ultimate in idealistic ethics has caused all sorts of current difficulties.

Orwell felt the effects of it all in his prophetic 1984. He wrote long before it was possible to see the roots of his vision; to see where the motive to maintain political power by war and deception in election campaigns rather than serve the common good came from. He reacted instead to the change in his beloved English Socialist party (once it took power after World War II) to join the same tactics and techniques as any other party in power to win the next election.

His medical treatment by doctors using “modern science” justified though physically painful actions blended into secret government torture of dissidents and everything was one terrible stew of technology destroying human foundations and decency. His vision of the future became quite impressive from 1950 through the 1970’s but then the pull of conservative corruption and incompetence left Orwell’s 1984 seeming a quite old English gentleman’s views of how bad things could become.

There is no simple, peaceful solution by rational debate and reasoning commitment to democratic ideals. There is an inevitable and unavoidable solution by the forces of angular momentum embodied in the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective reality. You do not mess with Mother Nature for several centuries and escape your fate. How long can folks blindly plow ahead running headlong on abstract principles and brute force without destroying everyone and everything connected to them?

The world seen as a great globe offers the simple illustration of how we can live in peaceful diversity and equality. One of the properties of a circle or a globe is that tangents or sight lines from any point see all the rest of the circle as extending below as the circle curves down and away from the local center. Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective is available to all from a common source and everyone can be the top of their local horizon.

This does not mean we can all be isolated from one another. Although the entire world has its prime natural energy from the same sun, each local horizon has its own latitude. There are different local conditions not only of Planet Earth topography, but also celestial dynamics Sunshine. Global Solutions perspective is not uniform for every place. It must all be integrated into the overall single system of one globe.

The temperate zones have the most energized crop growing season which is why these areas developed population surpluses that motivated urban development and foreign colonization. The arctic zone holds our planets reservoir of thick ice (and dissolved green house gases) the coastline of the rest of the Planet Earth requires to remain above sea level. The tropical zone holds the history and diversity of our Planet. It can not provide annual crops, but it does hold most of the exotic species with their new medicines and unique biodiversity.

It is only with the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective that a fair trade system can be developed to allow each local horizon to survive and thrive by trade that appreciates their place in the total picture. The current quarter profit calculation without concern with anything outside the isolated boundaries rigged to promote some interests and to destroy the common interest of us all is bringing bankruptcy to us all.

The ‘modern’ world rejected everything natural, especially Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions systems, since they were mesmerized by their handiwork making primitive machines. The mechanical clock turned away from the natural cycles of the Planet to simple counting for factory management. The steam engine became the Golden Calf of the “Modern” only to be replaced by its close relative the gasoline piston engine brought to maturity with World War I and II.

The horror and destruction of World War I was never addressed in Western Civilization. The fact that the Great War was a known and inevitable consequence of the military build up and technology of the day was especially ignored. The profit margins on a product essential to survival that is destroyed immediately in normal use are just too great for current accounting principles to let go of in any way.

However, the drive for ever greater profits and the demand to at least maintain the abstract percentage rate profit increase made eternal war totally addictive. Fortunately, the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective is self-policing by the general rule of positive feedback. That which doesn’t limit itself grows without limit until it destroys itself.

Global warming and global terror war are the inevitable constraints upon an industrialized world that blindly follows its profit rates off on a tangent without limitation. So, the Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective reality is doing fine, it is only the U.S. and our personal survival that is a bit up in the air these days.

Just as the Black Death was ignored and submerged into subconscious leaving only general inflation as its calling card, the horror of the Great War of 1914-1918 has its remnants in the economy based primarily in the stock and bond markets that arose from the military-industrial complex established by King William III in England to finance the overseas armies on the Continent which culminated in the 1701 war of the Spanish Succession.

New centuries bring new wars and new catastrophes to be ignored, denied and evaded in the modern perspective. 1701 brought the innovation of financing major armies and their wars through an economy based on government (war)debt bonds and stock markets of the enterprises supplying those war economy needs. 1801 brought Napoleon’s invasion of Italy and the total war concept where Divine Right kings were treated as postal clerks and survival depended upon a vast industrial infrastructure dedicated to producing war materiel.

1901 Brought the Boer war with its overseas anti-guerilla campaigns with concentration camps. The 20th century was a bit retarded by German clumsiness, but they made up for it with their two World Wars bringing technology and attrition to the service of genocide and total war. War preparations became so much a part of the industrial economy that when nuclear weapons put an end to new major wars, local surrogate guerilla wars and a bipolar Cold War became universal and permanent.

When the Cold War lost its focus with the collapse of the Soviet Union, a new alternative was required to justify the vast defense budgets. Petroleum warfare stepped up to the plate with the subject peoples of the desolate lands having an economy based solely upon their underground oil deposits (and there totally expendable and undeveloped populations) taking on the role of terrorist insurgents to maintain the economic and political status quo.

There are only two alternatives at this point: Universal equality and justice with local economic development that serves local needs within a global fair trade system based not on maximizing accounting profits but human development and social order OR global war and destruction between vast technological armies brought to painful stalemate by suicide bombers and petroleum based explosives and funding.

Change is inevitable and rapidly descending upon the globe overall. The open question is whether this will be an embrace of Planet Earth/Sunshine or Global Solutions perspective and universal diversity and equality or the violent destruction that only natural disasters and human munitions can bring about.

Since the steam engine was god, the gasoline engine was the ultimate technology and nothing more was ever needed. Since gas engines require explosive liquid fuel to run best, this limited the available fuel supply greatly relative to steam engines which can run on anything that boils water.

The few countries with petroleum supplies mostly in undeveloped areas ripe for foreign conquest, occupation and exploitation would make them easy pickings for the Great Powers. The 20th century was the climax of the Crusader Millennium and the Petroleum War Lords it spawned as its most modern development.

This meant the slogan “Oil Makes The World Go Round” would be the watchword of the 20th century. It had the essential “modern” theme—it was only human machinery that matters, everything else was just raw material for development and exploitation. And of course Global Solutions interplay was a negligible detail to be forgotten about as much as possible.

Petroleum Power as 20th century brute force error 20th century Petroleum politics is only a final disastrous blip on the whole tragic history of the Crusader Millennium from 1001 to 2000 CE(Y2K). Our current situation makes far more sense when seen in the context of its heyday the glory years of the Crusader Millennium 11th through 13th century.

The technology of piston engines envisioned, along with the guns actually discovered by Roger Bacon took the Western World until World War I to actually bring to the battlefield and the rest of the 20th century to bring to full development. The beginning is the seed of all that follows so it is only from its roots the Crusader Millennium can be understood.
